Hari Singh Nalwa
1. Hari Singh Nalwa was born in 1791 as Harry Singh Uppal , he lost his father at an early age.
2. In 1804 his mother sent him to the court of Maharaja Ranjit Singh where he got a job as a personal attendant.
3. He was involved in or led most of the major battles and he also built a number of forts and even a planned town called Haripur.
4. Hari Singh Nalwa was the commander-in -chief of the Sikh Empire under Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
5. The Times of London wrote an article in 1881, where they not only noted Hari Singh's battlefield power but also his success as an administrator and foresight.
6. As a baptized KHALSA he also built a great number of Gurdwaras.
